Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-15.

1. The agreement

By creating an account or otherwise using BinderBrew (“BinderBrew”, “the service”), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

BinderBrew is a deckbuilding assistant for Magic: The Gathering Commander format. We help you turn a collection into legal 100-card decks, surface buy lists, and validate decks against the official Commander rules and ban list. We are not Wizards of the Coast and we are not endorsed by them.

3. Accounts

  • You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, a parent or guardian must accept these Terms on your behalf.
  • You are responsible for the security of your account credentials.
  • One person per account; no sharing of paid accounts.

4. Beta status and beta access

BinderBrew is in open beta. During the beta period, some features intended to become part of the paid Premium tier may be unlocked at no charge after an email signup so we can collect usage feedback and measure demand. Beta access is not a perpetual license to those features. Beta features may change, be reduced, be moved behind a paid subscription, or be removed entirely without notice as the product transitions out of beta.

The free tier described on the Pricing page is the permanent set of features that will remain free of charge after the beta ends. Anything not listed in the free tier may require a paid Premium subscription at and after launch.

5. Subscriptions, billing, refunds, and launch list

  • BinderBrew is fully free during open beta. No paid subscription is offered today and no charges are made. A paid plan (BinderBrew Premium) may launch in the future; if and when it does, the price, billing terms, and feature scope will be disclosed in advance.
  • If we eventually launch a paid subscription, you will be able to cancel any time from your account. Access will continue through the end of the current billing period; we will not pro-rate partial months.
  • Launch list. Users who join the email launch list before paid plans launch may be offered a discounted founders rate at that time. Specific rates and eligibility terms will be disclosed in the launch announcement; joining the launch list today does not lock in any specific price, grant any paid feature unlock, or create any obligation on either side. It is solely a notify-me-at-launch list.
  • 30-day money-back guarantee on any future paid charge. If paid plans launch and you are charged, contact support@binderbrew.com within 30 days of the charge and we will refund it in full. After 30 days, refunds are reviewed on a good-faith basis case-by-case.
  • If paid plans launch, Stripe will handle every payment instrument. BinderBrew never sees card numbers or CVCs. Stripe's terms would apply to your use of Stripe.
  • Sales tax and VAT, if applicable, would be calculated and remitted by Stripe Tax for paid subscriptions where required by your jurisdiction.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or rate-limit-evade the service.
  • Upload content you do not have the right to upload.
  • Use AI features to produce or distribute infringing or unlawful content.
  • Resell access or expose the API to third parties without written permission.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of your collections, decks, and any notes you save. You grant BinderBrew a limited license to store and process that content solely to operate the service for you. We will not train models on your data without explicit, separate consent.

8. Third-party data and IP

Card data, rulings, and price estimates are sourced from third parties including Scryfall. Magic: The Gathering, the Commander format rules, the ban list, and card text are © Wizards of the Coast. BinderBrew is not affiliated with or endorsed by Wizards of the Coast. See Attribution for the full notice and Affiliate Disclosure for our purchase links.

9. Disclaimers

The service is provided as-is. Pricing, legality, and synergy outputs are best-effort estimates; always verify against official Wizards of the Coast rules before sleeving a deck for sanctioned play. We disclaim warranties to the extent permitted by law.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BinderBrew's aggregate liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD 100. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time; deletion of your stored decks and collection follows the schedule described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these Terms

Material changes will be announced via email and a homepage banner at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in that jurisdiction, unless a mandatory consumer-protection rule provides otherwise.
